Preliminary SAT — given to 10th and 11th graders, great practice for SAT, scores used to determine eligibility for the National Merit Scholarship Program
SSAT / ISEE
Secondary School Admission Test / Independent School Entrance Exam — administered to students in grades 5-7 (Lower Level) and 8-11 (Upper Level) to help determine placement into private junior high and high schools
SAT

SAT Subject Tests
20 multiple-choice, one-hour tests in individual subjects; students take 2-3 of their choosing to enhance application credentials (not required by all schools)
ACT

TOEFL
Test of English as a Foreign Language – evaluates ability to use and understand English in an academic setting, required by universities of students who have not previously attended an English-language school
University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations
English for Speakers of Other Languages – recognized worldwide as proof of English qualifications for both study and work:

FCE: First Certificate in English
CAE: Certificate in Advanced English
CPE: Certificate of Proficiency in English
